Once again, we are about to celebrate the holiday season and the MOAS team is pleased to share this special time with you.
2022 was an important year for all of us: we had the opportunity to return to offer many activities and together achieved a multitude of essential outcomes, which we will list in more detail in our “End of Year” blog.
Following the separation of the COVID years, we were able to once again engage with our community in person; we shook hands and shared moments of mutual exchange and enrichment, finding what we had missed most.
With the dramatic development of the Ukrainian crisis and the escalation of the conflict, we mobilised our resources to be present in the field and offer point-of-injury care, trauma response and critical care evacuation to those affected by the violence. Through our doctors and paramedics, nurses, drivers and all the staff, we strive to reduce the incidence of illness and mortality. By treating patients on the ground with our mobile medical units and providing supplementary healthcare through our clinic sessions, MOAS, with your help, has saved lives in Ukraine this year.
This Christmas sees us on the front lines of a conflict that is taking the population to the brink, inflicting trauma on the lives of children, women and men, who will not have the opportunity to celebrate the true meaning of this festivity.
For this reason, our thoughts can only go to Ukraine, as we thank all those who have contributed to our fundraising efforts so that our intervention could be possible and numerous lives could be saved. Your generosity has enabled us to bring a modicum of hope in the midst of war. Your support will continue to make our efforts to save more lives possible as we wait for this inhumane crisis to end.
Therefore, we share the message of our Director Regina Catrambone, who states:
“Together with the MOAS family, made up of donors, supporters and staff, this Christmas we will stand, once again, with the most vulnerable people, those who need care and assistance, support and solidarity. We will continue to make our presence felt to all those who need someone that supports them, and we will try to give them a sense of family during this festivity. I wish you all a Merry Christmas with the hope that the coming year will bring glimmers of peace, which is extremely necessary at this moment”.
